This piece reveals the innocuousness of the Biological weapon of mass destruction at molecular level, which in turn creates a sculptural entity, almost minimalist in its structure, a decorative item that can be transposed to almost any aesthetic environment.
The aim of the work is to prompt understanding of the ultimate devastation of the substance on the human body and the very nature of its use. The title suggests an ironic ‘gift’ to the Jewish people [ Gift meaning "Poison " in German ] the attempt by the Nazi regime to eradicate and obliterate an entire race of people, and ultimately to condemn and stigmatise that what is deemed other.
Its purpose is to illustrate human brutality by means of mass murder, to reduce and homogenise and warn of repeated acts of ethnic cleansing, its consequences and lasting devastation.
Our response is the true act of our understanding of our own collectivisation and individualism and to what extent to which they empathise with each other, whether in conflict or in our everyday lives.
